Starting May 2026, any student can build and publish a portfolio website for free — including the premium Tesla, Apple, BMW M, Uber and Meta-style templates. No plan. No credit card. Here's exactly what changed, what's still optional, and why we did it.
Publishing a student portfolio website on SitesPlaced is now completely free. Every student template — from the clean CS and Resume layouts to the premium company-grade portfolios — goes live at ₹0 with a real yourname.sitesplaced.com URL, AI-written content from your résumé, and edge-cached hosting. The ₹99 Student plan still exists but is now purely optional: it only adds a custom domain (yourname.com) and removes the small "Made using sitesplaced.com" badge.

Yes — the premium templates are free too
This is the part students keep asking about. The five premium, company-grade student portfolios are included in the free tier. You can publish any of them at ₹0:
- Tesla — Premium Engineering Portfolio — minimal, engineering-led, for robotics / AI / EV builders.
- Apple — Premium Builder Portfolio — editorial tiles, product-design polish.
- BMW M — Premium Motorsport Portfolio — high-contrast, mechanical, for hardware and automotive.
- Uber — Premium Operator Portfolio — clean operator / PM layout.
- Meta — Premium Builder Portfolio — tile-based, for VR / AR / hardware builders.
Until now these were treated as premium. As of May 2026, if you're building a student portfolio, they cost nothing to publish.
Why we made student websites free
A portfolio is the single biggest edge a student has in placement season — and the one thing most students skip, because every other builder is priced in dollars for Western freelancers. Even ₹99 is a real decision when you're a college student.
So we removed the decision. If you're a student, the answer is just "yes, publish it." We'd rather have thousands of students shipping real portfolios than a handful paying for one. The optional ₹99 plan covers the people who want a custom domain on their résumé — and that's the only thing it's for now.

No. There's no student-ID check. The student templates are open to anyone — they're simply built for student use cases like projects, skills, education, and internships.
What does the ₹99 Student plan add now?
Only two things: a custom domain (yourname.com instead of yourname.sitesplaced.com) and removal of the small SitesPlaced badge. It's a one-time payment and is never required to publish.
